Cult of Mac

Dont be fools...It's not a Christmas gift, but it's sort of a dream comes true. I'm a big fan of Apple since 1985. The first computer that i have opportunities to used is apple IIe, adored by the design and the OS...i promised myself...someday I'll using it for my works.... today is the day... a long waiting, a few paperworks and finally a well worth for the hardworking to achieve this moment.... hope nobody will be jealous this.

Ready, Roll VT and Action!

Fuhhhh..... at last all the burden finally are lifted from my shoulder, yesterday. Exhausted after a long working hours for the past 2 weeks preparing video presentation for my Director retirement function in The Legacy, Malacca... 1.30am arrived from Malacca, starving and feel sleepy. luckily there some food left in the refrigerator ...first time i attended an over pax function, without a seat reserved as "urusetia" and without food to eat.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Twice, this year i went to Malacca, firstly last month i went there as a "urusetia" for video editing using Adobe Premiere training, in Orkid Hotel and yesterday for "Jasamu Dikenang Budimu Disanjung" Function. The same scenario in government agency, happen to me again...and again...and again, i suppose to send some selected personal to a series of video editing training, so they can setup a team, and when the time comes, they manage to produce a video presentation.....But when the time come, it's a different story, where ICT unit is being responsible to do it again.

So for the past 2 weeks it is a hell week for me and ngibung. we do all the step to produce the video from scanning photo, do the interview, shot the video, voice over and etc, with limited equipment and a few resources. The equipment that we have at the moment is not on par to be use in normal video production. So to prove to those people that not understand the meaning of video production...i proposed a basic requirement set for video production to the management, luckily they accepted it and for the next video production, hopefully we can get a decent video output without many hassle.

Another frustating session was held 2 day before the event, as usual there's a lot of comment toward that video, but in pre-production, there are nobody bother to give us comment or recommendation, a typical and common attitude government officer is never change since i joint the services. In 2 days...making some improvement to the video, we manage to pull out a decent output.

On the 11th Disember 2007, the same event were held but this time in different location with another additional changes to be made to the presentation..so another..2 day with less sleep to finish the changes. APA KE-JADAH! on that particular day, we have to make room for another staff speech to be put inside the video...haiyaaaa...

...my schedule is fully book the this year. Next week we are busy doing installation and replacement of a new PC for the Officers then I'll be flying to Sabah for another job as a "SYMP".

bye for now.

Whiz-kids and Commodore 64 change everything

A television series named "whiz kids" that aired around the eighties in Malaysia and the computer that being used in those drama is commodore 64( 8-bit home computer) are adored by many computer geeks at that time. I'm also one from thousands of their fan. It's a dream come true if you can afford to bought the computer even to touch the computer keyboard is a privilege . I still remember the price for a commodore is around RM 1200, and for the monitor they used a converter that can be plug into the television and for the storage they use a cassette player.

Pakat pi Kelantan and Terengganu 2007

"If you wok in kelante...you mah be cafuuu...you may be kok by the wemei of kelante" (Try pronounce in english with Kelantanese slang)

The joke my friend cum guru Tuan Haji Rusli made 14 years ago. It is to appreciates the bold and beauty of kelantanese girls those days. Last week, I got an opportunity to have a working trip to Kota Baharu, Kelantan. The journey complete my collection to travel around malaysia.

This is a first time i 'm travelling in the fasting month...a bit harder than normal days...left the aircond working environment.... so exhausted...

21 Sept 2007
0900 : Left Putrajaya, with two other collegue in pajero with full of computers....Kelantan here we come....we are using karak-gua musang route becaus it's much faster using this route...that what my driver say to me..... feel tooo long to reach kb....why did'n i traveled by flight???....simple because i want to learn the route, see the culture and environment and killing the time before iftar.

1630 : Arrive in Kota Baharu, checking the lab to make sure all the cabeling and infrastucture are ready....sad to say...i have to wait for another 2/3 days to make sure the infra ready and my team can deploy all the necesary equipments...so the delay give some time to explore the town.... we went to Siti Khadijah market, Rantau Panjang, Wakaf Che Ye and Cinta Bulan beach.

Tips to traveller, you shoud know how to speak their dialect or bring someone that know how to speak this dialect before going shopping in Kelantan. Otherwise you pockets will be slaughter.

27 Sept 2007
1130 Repack all equipment and continue our journey home using Terengganu-Kuantan route. Purposely i choose the routes is to fulfill my ganu programmer dream to visit his family and furthermore we can do some more shopping there..heheheh..... reach Kuala Terengganu in the noon...rush to Payang market...buy some more silk material, shirt and bawal no 1 for my family. Finally I manage to buy something for myself... a "songkok" that fits my heads...so every incoming friday i could wear a full malay traditional outfit in the office.

Stay a night there, next day after Subuh prayerer...we continue our journey home...arive putrajaya around 12 noon 28 September 2007.

As a conclusion, nothing much to be seen in kb and kt, there no night-life, which is good for me rather than kl , or its because the fasting month. You can see Kelantan adapted more Jawi scripts in their banners, road names and etc...their beaches are marvelous and a breath taking moment to visit and foremost i did'nt being caught or attracted to/by any women in Kelantan or Terengganu...i wonder where are all their beauty goes...

Mehran: lives at the Airport since 1988

"Mehran Karimi Nasseri, also known as Sir, Alfred Mehran (yes, including the comma), is an Iranian refugee who has been living in the departure lounge of Terminal One in Charles de Gaulle Airport since August 8, 1988. After he was later imprisoned, tortured and expelled from his country, he applied for asylum in many European countries without luck.

When he decided to go to the United Kingdom, he claimed that he was mugged, and his shoulder bag stolen while waiting at the RER platform to go to Charles de Gaulle Airport to take a flight to Heathrow. Nasseri managed to board the plane, but when he arrived at Heathrow without the necessary documentation, Heathrow officials sent him back to Charles de Gaulle. Nasseri was unable to prove his identity or his refugee status to the French officials and so he was moved to the Zone d'attente (waiting zone), a holding area for travellers without papers.

Nasseri was reportedly the inspiration behind the 2004 movie The Terminal. Unlike Tom Hanks' character in the movie, and since at least 1994, Nasseri does not live in the duty-free transit area but simply in the departure hall, in the circular boutiques and restaurants passage on the lowest floor. He can at least theoretically leave the terminal at any moment, although, since everyone knows him, his departure might not remain unnoticed. He does not seem to speak with anyone normally. With his cart and bags, he almost looks like a traveler, so people either do not notice him or ignore him as if he were a homeless person."

Amazing to read his story, his passion of waiting more than 18 years at Charles de Gaulle airport, teach and give some bit of encouragement to fulfill my dream to animate my model someday.

Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair 2007

A good timing to attend the event...this event not only for the book worm, but also a good practise to expose reading and buying books to family members, especially to the children....and furthermore you could reduce your income tax by buying books(max RM700.00) - where applicable. I hope the government should increase the waiver amount to attract 7 educate more people to this good habbit...and the foreigner publisher should sell their books more cheaper

I planned to buy some more animation related books, but not many goods titles available....instead i'm buying a "tafsiran alQuran", some reading material for my kid and a few novels for my wife...

Breakfast in Bangi

Today I went to a new place for having my breakfast. It's a bit far from the office, but it's a good transformation from the usual places. Bangi kopitiam is own by Hamzah Mohd Taib (kid), who is an ex member of Search. The environment including the motocycle, guitar, fan, pictures and the background music will bring back the memories...the price is quite reasonable compare to mamak stall. If you interested at the items displayed(motorcycle, fans and the coffee table) don't hesisted to ask the cashier, the also selling those items as an antique collection.

I try "nasi lemak- ayam rendang", the sambal gravy a bit hot but i like to sip the black coffee and staring around th shop...there not much can be expected in the early morning...the only menu thay they serve nasi lemak, half cook egg and roti bakar....next time, i will go a bit late and brings my relative to try other menus such nasi dagang, curry mee, cendol etc.

Mauvaise Foi Nocturne - Fatal Bazooka

[Fatal] Ouais c'est qui là ?
[Vitoo] Fatal, c'est Vitoo ouvre moi...
[Fatal] Ça va Vitoo ? T'as l'air bizarre. Qu'est ce qu'il y a ? Bien t'as vu.

[Fatal] Mais Vitoo arrête, tu sais ta meuf t'aime, ta meuf m'a dit :
[Fatal] Change ton code PIN !
[Vitoo] Elle a infiltré mon répondeur,

[Vitoo] Elle devient zarbi,

[Vitoo] Excuse moi...
[Fatal] Mais pourquoi elle a pété ma caisse ?
[Vitoo] J'osais pas
[Fatal] T'osais pas lui dire quoi ?
[Vitoo] Qu'elle était à toi
[Fatal] Enfin à moi, j'l'avais empruntée, t'as vu !

[Fatal] Viens on y va,
[Vitoo] Mais pourquoi ?

[Fatal] Vas-y tape ! Non... tape j'te dis !
[Meuf de Vitoo] Ouais 12 secondes j'arrive...
[Fatal] Allez vas-y

Oh... Pourquoi tu me tapes, mais ça va pas ?!
T'es pas une meuf, t'es un ninja ou quoi ?
Putain viens j'ai les foies, on se casse d'ici viens Vitoo !

[Vitoo] Dépêche-toi
[Fatal] Passe-moi les clés de la caisse !
[Vitoo] Ouvre-moi.

[Fatal] Quoi ?

[Fatal] Ouais !
[Vitoo] Et ton disque dur externe ?
[Fatal] Pareil !
[Vitoo] Fouillé ton Bluetouth ?
Cliquer sur ta carte mere ?
Démonter ta web cam ?
Rentrer dans ton minitel ?
Si t'es sur de toi,
[Fatal] Ouais bah quoi bah quoi ?!
[Vitoo] Alors donne ton telephone, on écoute ton répondeur et on verra
[Fatal] Mais Arrête là, t'es fatigué, t'as la haine,

Tu me manques, tu me manques !

Old Patriotic Song - Ismail Haron & Cikgu Zaharah

Assalamualaikum, peace be upon you,

Not much work today...it's a boring day...do some housekeeping to my computer and just found out old mp3 folder that has been forgotten in long period of time....clicking some of the mp3 and listening to some of old good song that are being stored inside it...just to kill the time, while waiting any job been given to me....and this song give me a boost, below is the lyric to the song:

Song and lyrics by A. Rahim Yadi
Singer : Ismail Haron & Cikgu Zaharah

Cikgu Zaharah: Kau mempunyai akal bukan? / Tepuklah dada, tanya selera / Ismail Haron: Sungguhkanlah hatimu / Pertahankan ibu pertiwi / Jauhkanlah dirimu dari perkara yang merugi / Maaf, mudi dan muda / Ku susun jari sepuluh / Aku bukanlah seorang pujangga / Hanya seorang penyanyi biasa.

Africa Arts

There no new item to write...just compiling some of the pictures from previous trip. The picture below are shots capture from a few places such as at the lobby of Sheraton Hotel (Abuja), in Lukman Adam Apartment, near Abuja Airport that sell art product to tourists and also at ferry Jetty to Goree Island.
Below are one of the item that i puchase purposely for interior item for the new house...don't know how to pronounce it, but i just called it "round leather carpet", because the main material is leather and round in shape. It cost me around RM 140 for that prticular item.

Before doing the interior decoration i also need to buy medium size round coffee table to be put at the center of the carpets...and a medium size Sarawak flower vase with a few native motive on top of the table....what do you think?

Before this, there an article i wrote about nigeria traditional garment called yoruba, on the left are the material that i bought at Wuse market, Abuja Nigeria......but my dream to wear yoruba for this year hari raya celebration cannot be archieved...still don't no what to do with this material..Any idea what to to with this material?

Meet the Robinsons(2007)

This afternoon, went to IOI Mall to watch this movies with my wife and irfan, and twice i fall asleep. This is the first time i slept in the cinema hall...what the hell going on...i'm not recommend it for adults & kids..irfan also say its a boring movie...what can i say more....

The animation was very similar to Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and was decent but not really anything new or groundbreaking. Their characters in the movie is recycled from other movies or other Walt Disney/ Pixar cartoon character. What i can say is there's no orginality and no new character to be proud of...Meanwhile their props such as building and time machine transporter...are interesting...

A lot of the jokes in this movie felt as if they were trying to be funny rather then funny but the Dinosaur really steal the show.

Below some of the reviews from other sites:
"… one of the worst theatrically released animated features issued under the Disney label in quite some time." - The New York Times

"… who knows whether the project is meant to be earnest, ironic, post-ironic, made for adults, made for kids, made to teach lessons, or made to be watched in an altered state?" - Entertainment Weekly
".. A Children's animated film of considerable depth" - Rotten Tomatoes

I learned my lesson, next time, I should check the review from the internet before make any decision to watch the movies.

It was quite fast paced and excellent animation but as mentioned above it doesn't really get anywhere, the plot does buildup rather well but never really takes off. Still a pretty good, colorful movie for kids with a decent story and a positive message behind it. Other than that there isn't much new here. As a conclusion, it's not worth to spend RM21.00 on this movies and give a 2 star out of 5 star.

Africa Trip V -The Final Episode

Bonjour,

This is the last chapter that i will wrote about my trip to Africa. It's an exciting event, give new hopes and lot's of new experience that enrich my knowledge towards communication with other human being. Here are some of learning experiences that can be shared among us:
  1. As a backpacker, you should do some homework about the places that you intend to go. A big mistake that been occured while in Heathrow Airport, is NOT well prepared, apparently we messing around the airport terminal, and 3 to 4 hours precious transit time has been lost. We actually do nothing in London. We learn from our mistake in London and done some homework before visiting goree Island -The Door of No Return. No need to appoint a tourist guide that will cost additional money from your pocket. we also do some research before venture into Paris using the metro.
  2. Stay away the hot weather and "hamatan" wind. the hot weather can make your nose bleeding and "hamatan"(very small particel of dust coming from sahara desert) is not a suitable place for an asthma patient like me. It's not advisable for us walking around the city, but this give us the opportunity to explore the ourskirt of Abuja.
  3. Anywhere you travel, you will hear ghost story. We went to Zuma rock and Gurara waterfall...nothing fancy aboout this two attractions...but near to Zuma rock stand an abandoned hotel reported by local folks that the voice of the spirits disturbing the hotel workers and customers can be heared at night...finally they abondoned the hotel completely....I try to take some video images with my JVC camcoder by zooming it...but until now is unbelievable...there is none that being captured in the tape...a bit scary to hear and view the hotel from the main road....
  4. Sacrifies for its local inhabitants is common practices in this part of the world...they sacrifies anything from an animals blood, goat heads, etc. to their god/spirits at the gurara waterfall or the Zuma Rock. There's still people live in primitive culture and believe the Animism.
  5. Make sure an arrangment being made before making any orders. One good thing here at Abuja are their passion on the art, especially for the sourviner and their culture. Everywhere you can see nigerian proudly wearing their traditional garments called "yoruba". Unfortunatly there aren't any ready made yoruba for me...eagerly to wear it on this year Hari Raya...i went to Wuse Market buying the suitable material..but unmanaged to get a tailor to sewing it.
  6. Their have a superb skill in making painting...the price a bit steep for an outsider and western tourist but still you can bargain for it. The painting is worth of buying in Abuja rather that Dakar. I think irfan painting is much better painting done in dakar, especially in goree Island.
  7. Lag of maintainance in both African country. More obvious when we attend friday pray in so called National Mosque in Abuja. The mosque is in bad condition..The people didn't bother to make sure the mosque in good and clean condition. The smell, dusk, sand and spider web...is everywhere seen in the mosque. But their spirit to done their solat is unquestionable. In abuja, when the time come to solat...the done it in jamaah....everywhere...near a gate of a house..in open field...below a tree..you can name it..in Malaysia..sometime you can see, there are more surau than the jamaah inside it...people tend to solat in their own house by themself. In Dakar, the spirit to attend friday solat in one of their small mosque...make me so humble and small in front of Allah..AlMighty Allah show to me, this black people come in dirty shirt...without slippers,..without proper attire, praying in the sand..the wind blowing the sand..i'm proud to solat beside and with them...this is a true muslim brothers...
  8. Africa Team is the best team i ever work so far...keep up the good work team...for the next trip..most probable i won't be there....hope you all can maintain the good spirits. I'll weill remember and miss your all. Mersi beaucoup...
  9. While writing this article, I'm still in jet lag condition...don't know when it will over.

Who this Cute Kid?

This cute boys is Adham Adnan, 3 years old and can speak france. Born in Malaysia and being raised in Senegal. Everytime watching his behaviour, remind me to Irfan...

Luckly to Adham, his family create fotopages for him, in early stages of his life....so others can see his growth from another part of this world.

I didn't do the same thing to Irfan, because for me...this turf is not suitable and my life is just to be shared among our family not for the others to see...I'am maybe orthodox about this mattter but this is my life and i planned it in my own ways.

Good luck to Adham and his family....May Allah bless you all.

Mersi beaucoup, for the hospitality and the foods....heeee

Africa Trip IV - The Door of No Return

Bonjour...

On Saturday morning, we are going to Goree Island that is located 20 minutes in front of Dakar Port. More than 20 millons Afican being trade as a slave between mid 1500 - 1800's. Afican that passed through the door of Maison des esclaves (House of Slaves) will never coming back. That the beginning african being exported to other side of the word.
Being advice to wear more suitable shoe, we bought shoes in the street and cost us (10000fra -15000 fra). So try to figure out which shoe belong to me, zero_eff or pearl_yogurt

Afrika Trip III - The Best Episode

Bonjour....
What wonderful episode in my whole life, watching the Eifel Tower in the true naked eyes. Did'nt expected one day, i could walked below this manificient building with a beautiful landscape....a picture talks by itself....enjoyed watching....wallah

Before went to Eifel Tower...we have been given a good advice from elly (our collegue in the embassy)...Do & Do'nt at that place...While a good place to visit....Eifel Tower also have lots of professional pick pocket....including the gypsy girl...
The building surround me is so beautifull, with lots of antique elements, good design and well structured. For an art lover like me, i can't descibe more ...just letting the jaw down...The town is so clean...i can give thumb up to this city.
Why KL river cant be like this river, i enjoyed watching the bots and ferry passing by...its very romantic view ...hopefully someday i can bring my wife along...

Pearl_yogurt with zero_eff having hot chocolate and expresso outside the cafe while Eifel Tower is near by just 5 minutes walk, it's cost us E12 (RM55)...what a expensive lifestyle in Paris. Having a good sun shine is like pampering our body in the hot tub...the temperature around 6 degree...for us coming from Malaysia...it's very cold. The small girl next to me is pearl_yogurt a young and vibrant person...."LAYAN" is like a keyword from her mouth...remind me to one of the anchor in Melodi programme.....she also a good companion in the group....we decided not to go upstairs because the queue is very long and the price a bit steep....

For us...watching & walking around this manificient monument...is a well worth experience.... we prefered to spare the money for buying sourviner for loves one in Malaysia.
Bonne nuit (translated: good night everybody)....bye for now

Africa trips I

Had another trip, this time to Africa country, Nigeria. Its took us 19 hours to arrived in Abuja, capital city of Nigeria. 5 hours transit in London, not enough for us to travel to London town center. We are adviced not to go, because we need to catch another flight to Abuja. Anyway this are some photos while in the airport and in the tubes (underground trains) area.
The train just pass behind us, is the train that transport use from main terminal to terminal 4.
Below are picture me with a fellow cap named FRIDAY. He has 2 children, a girl and a boy. His family still in Lagos. Not sure if he is a muslim or not...but if he is malaysian we can call him Jumaat...emmm good name.
